Thanks to your support, “I Can...”

       We could see smiles for miles as 700 people
       gathered for the first time since 2019 at the
       annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk &
       Family Picnic on Sunday, October 9, 2022. It
       was joyful to see so many DSCBA families in
       person after three long years!

       October is National Down Syndrome
       Awareness Month, and we host the walk to
       celebrate accomplishments of members with
       Down syndrome and to promote awareness
       and acceptance. The Step Up for Down
       Syndrome Walk is also the largest fundraiser
       of the year, and we are truly grateful for
       the over $168k raised by 93 Team Captains,
       which will allow us to continue to grow with
       our members’ needs and welcome
       new families.
       Thank you to the Town of Danville
       for the help in securing a beautiful
       new venue, Oak Hill Park, and
       providing supplies and games.

       Congratulations to the top five teams
       who together raised over $55K!:

         *  Avery’s Amazing Advocates
         *  Glam Grace
         *  Simon’s Superheroes
         *  Team Drucker
         *  Team Eden

       Thank you to the crew of over 75
       volunteers who helped set up and
       staff the event, including groups
       from National Charity League,
       Boys Team Charity, Kiwanis Club
       of San Ramon Valley, Northgate
       High School Leadership, Pledge to
       Humanity and many others. Special
       thanks to photographers Fred and
       Ginger Stambaugh.
