What a Fun Day! Over 100 walkers and runners participated in DSCBA’s inaugural T21 Fun Run at the picturesque Lafayette Reservoir on Sunday, August 27, 2022. Thank you to the staff at Lafayette Reservoir for their support in making this location possible. The event raised $5,188.
Why T21? The name of the event references the extra copy (3 instead of 2) of the 21st chromosome in individuals with Down syndrome (Trisomy 21/T21).
It was wonderful to see so many families and friends come out to enjoy the outdoor exercise and camaraderie. Participants set their own goal times and then walk or ran at their own pace, circling the beautiful reservoir and finishing under a colorful balloon arch with a cheering crowd.
Registered participants received a t-shirt and swag bag full of snacks and other items from the awesome sponsors who supported this first-time event for the DSCBA.
